About me
My name is Eszter Kulhay...
...and I specialize in both adult psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. I have a medical background from Hungary and have worked in psychiatry for over 24 years - both in the public and private sector. For the past 16 years I have lived and worked in Denmark and I am currently 49 years old.
I have extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of various psychiatric issues and always meet the individual with respect and curiosity. In my work, I emphasize seeing the person as a whole, where both the mental, physical and spiritual aspects are included.
I am a trained specialist in psychotherapy in Denmark and have a special focus on mentalization-based therapy, which I both practice and supervise. I am also trained in autogenic training, solution-focused therapy and puppet therapy.
We offer several types of therapy (you'll find an elaboration below).
For the past seven years, I have had a special focus on treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This has given me a solid toolbox for working with trauma, integrating trauma-sensitive yoga and compassion inquiry - therapies that also involve the body as an important part of the healing process.
My online therapy offering is for those who are looking for a holistic approach with room for both the vulnerable and the strong in you.
The therapy is offered in Danish, English and Hungarian - whichever you feel most comfortable with.

Types of therapy I work with
Mentalization-based therapy
Mentalization-based therapy helps you better understand your own and others' emotions and reactions. It strengthens your ability to regulate emotions and understand relationships. It is particularly relevant for emotional vulnerabilities and relationship problems.
Solution-focused therapy
Instead of dwelling on problems, this therapy focuses on your resources and what's already working. Together we work with your hopes, goals and strengths - and find small steps towards change. A simple and effective method that often creates motivation and rapid progress.
Puppet therapy
Puppet therapy is a creative and playful method where characters or puppets are used to express emotions, relationships and difficult experiences. It allows children in particular - but also adults - to work with what can be difficult to put into words. The method creates a safe distance and opens up new understanding.
Autogenic training
Autogenic training is a relaxation technique where you learn through guided exercises to create calm and balance in both body and mind. The method is based on self-hypnosis and is often used to reduce stress, anxiety, inner turmoil and sleep problems. The exercises can be adapted to your needs and integrated into everyday life.
Trauma-sensitive yoga
Trauma-sensitive yoga is a gentle and body-oriented approach that helps rebuild safety and connection to the body after difficult experiences. The exercises are calm and customized to your needs - with a focus on strengthening your ability to feel yourself and create inner peace.
